Sealed

Privacy policy

Effective 6 November 2026

In short: Sealed does not collect, store on disk, send or share any of your data. Everything happens inside the extension on your computer.

What Sealed does

Sealed is a Chrome extension that replaces sensitive values in text you paste into its side panel, such as ID numbers, phone numbers, bank details, email addresses, API keys and names you choose, with labels like [PERSON_1]. It then restores the original values in text you paste back.

Data we collect

None. Sealed has no servers, accounts, analytics, crash reporting, advertising or third-party code. The extension is configured so it cannot make network requests (its content security policy sets connect-src 'none'), so the text you paste cannot leave your device through Sealed.

Data kept on your device

So the side panel can be closed and reopened without losing your work, Sealed keeps the following in Chrome’s in-memory session storage (chrome.storage.session):

This storage is held in memory only. It is not written to disk, not synced to your Google account, and is erased when you close Chrome, when the extension is updated or removed, or when you click Clear.

The clipboard

Sealed writes to your clipboard only when you click Hide & copy or Copy restored text. It never reads your clipboard.

Websites you visit

Sealed does not read, change or track the pages you visit. It only sees text you paste into its own side panel.

AI services

Sealed does not connect to any AI service. You choose what to paste into an AI chat, and that service’s own privacy policy applies to what you send it. Sealed helps you remove sensitive values first; please check the highlights before you send.

This website

This site has no cookies, analytics or tracking. The live demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Children

Sealed collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Any change that introduced data collection would require a new extension version and your agreement first.
